Homework Throughout the Year

Each morning students will be responsible for writing their agenda messages and homework as soon as they sit down. I will then circulate the room and sign the agendas. If there is no homework, students will write "no homework" as their message and I will sign this message, acknowledging that they do not have any homework for the evening. If the students do have homework assigned, it is expected that they bring their work home with them to finish it for the next day (or the due date if specified). If students have finished their work in class, I still expect them to bring it home in order for someone at home to check over their work and see some of what we are learning about in class. I tell students that they should be proud to bring it home and show their families that they are working hard at school! If there is a problem getting homework accomplished (after school sports and lessons, unexpected excursions from home, or difficulties with the work), please write a note to me in the students agenda explaining why the homework was not able to be accomplished that night. I hope this helps to explain what is expected for the homework this year.
